The Truth About Life

Where did we come from and what was the beginning? This question shapes our whole conception of life and how we live it. If we accept our ultimate source as father and mother and our beginning as existing her womb, then life becomes just a race to enjoy as much as possible before we reach the finish line.
We can see this mentality permeate all our thoughts and decisions. Currently, I am at Bonaroo music festival in the United States, a place where people think the highest enjoyments in life can be achieved. Unrestricted sex, drugs, and rock + roll is the goal of this event; a motivation strong enough to inspire millions of dollars, intense organization, and almost 100,000 people to manifest on a barren stretch of land every year.
So it seems as if unlimited enjoyment of the senses is a very desirable experience, maybe even the most desirable experience we can have. This understanding is due only to our lack of knowledge.
Remember the first two questions? It is the assumption that we are these bodies, coming from the union of our father and mother, meant for success and domination over this world, that creates this unfortunately limited perspective. Because we are accepting only what we see as the all in all, we are actively creating a conception of life that is finite and exploitative.

The most unfortunate part of this conundrum is, that those who accept this philosophy only have experiences that reinforce this limited thinking. We accept this material conception of life, so adamantly, that when someone has an experience outside the realm of material senses, we write them off as crazy or mentally diseased.
So how do we open up our assumptions? Well, let's start at the beginning.
For the sake of an overwhelming presentation of evidence, let us go ahead and accept that Evolutionary Theory has statistically no chance of explaining the creation of life. If you are skeptical about this, then feel free to check the research that is out there. So if it is not just succession of DNA reproduction that has started life, then what has?
The assumptions and perspectives we carry with us through our daily lives, open the door for certain experiences to take place. These experiences then further shape our beliefs and pursuits. This loop goes on and on and is the reason each individual has a unique conception of life's purpose, beginning, and end result.
Just on a theoretical basis, we can understand that living for something greater than ourselves is more fulfilling than living for our own sense gratification. So, there is some intrinsic sense of the benefits of community and personal connection.
Okay, so living for the welfare of our nation or countrymen is good but it still creates divisions and animosity, which we can see on today's news channels. So this cannot be the ultimate goal of life. If we stretch it to caring for every living being and our dear mother Earth, then we arrive at a cause everyone can get behind.
So what is the unifying characteristics of the global community? Certainly not the body, as we see so many different kinds of bodies: man, woman, bird, beast, lizard. Underneath all of these material coverings is the living force - consciousness, or spirit.
Every living entity has this in common: life. Where does life come from? Well, nowhere in our experience is there an example of something living manifesting from dead matter. No, life comes from life. Seems simple but it's a revolutionary idea if you think about it.
In the oldest recorded spiritual texts on Earth, know as the Vedas, there is a consistent theme: life is always existing - eternal and imperishable. They say that there is one original living being from which all other living beings are expanding.
The Vedas say that us, the expanded living beings, and Krishna, the original living being, have an ongoing connection - a relationship. This relationship is direct and personal in the spiritual world, and those in the material world have come to enact their selfish desires and try to be "lord of all they survey".
Krishna's kindness is in accepting our desires and giving us facility to carry them out. He even helps us forget Him if we want!
So on account of our desires, time, place, and circumstance, Krishna reveals Himself and the Absolute Truth accordingly. This is why we have various religions and prophets with various conceptions of the Supreme Absolute Truth. Krishna's main business is to share love, specific and unique, with each individual person. He wants us to be happy.
We to are meant for this purpose: exchanging love. This exchange of love is perfect when shared directly with the source of all loving relationships- Sri Krishna.
So, beliefs open the door for experiences to take place. Assumptions can limit us to a life of selfish sense gratification, or, liberate us to a life of pure unending love.
The first and most foundational belief, for liberating our experience, is that there is life beyond our material senses. Once we believe this, the whole world opens up to an indescribable life of opportunities.
It is possible to prepare ourselves for powerful revelations about the Truth of our existence through spiritual practices like mantra meditation. Although any name of the Divine is sufficient, it is especially recommended in the Vedas that chanting: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare; Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare will quickly reinstate us in our original blissful consciousness.
So if we open up our beliefs then our experiences will open up to. It's amazingly indescribable, the fulfilling love that's here for you. Hare Krishna.
